The two pieces of writing presented below compliment one another, and exemplify the interconnection and dependency between writing and research. The poster project on the left exemplifies the connection between scientific research and writing. The argumentative research paper on the right exemplifies the connection between writing and literary research. While these projects may seem very different at first glance, they both serve as representations of the interconnection between research and writing. Furthermore, effective writing skills are a critical ability maintained by researchers, as scientific breakthroughs are only impactful once communicated to others. Additionally, effective research skills are of critical importance to writers, as writing is most impactful when backed by sound research.
Researchers must be writers; writers must be researchers.

Argumentative Research Writing
I wrote this paper in my English 125 class during my freshman year at the University of Michigan. This paper explores the philosophical differences between relative and absolute truth in the context of journalism, and is strongly grounded in D'Agata and Fingal's book The Lifespan of a Fact.
