This page outlines the progression of my repurposing project from beginning to end. As you will see, the process began by choosing an Original Source for content and a Repurposing Model for format. The topic from the original source was then reworked and formatted after the model, resulting in my Repurposing Draft and Repurposing Final.

The first step of the repurposing project seemed simple: find an old piece of writing that could use more work. But as I began to dig through the various old papers on my computer, I couldn't find a piece that fully peaked my interest. I soon adopted a more global approach and began thinking about both my general interests and my overall goals for the gateway course, and attempted to merge these two into one. I eventually decided to use the piece on the left, titled "Additional Years, Additional Sacrifice" as my formal original source for the project. This paper was written for my english 125 class during my freshman year at the University of Michigan, and explores the role preventative healthcare plays in our modern society. But while this piece was surely worth revisiting, it alone did not encompass both my general passion for medicine and my goals for the minor. I therefore decided to merge the content of this paper with my personal experiences gained working as an EMT, and together, these sources served as co-original sources for my repurposing project.
