Traditional rhetoric has existed for hundreds if not thousands of years, and refers to the compilation of written words as a mode of communication. Digital rhetoric is much newer, and refers to the integration of traditional rhetoric with modern technology platforms. The three projects displayed below exemplify both traditional and digital rhetoric, and were created during the Writing in Minor Gateway course. The Minor in Writing blog is also available below, and offers further analysis of traditional and digital rhetoric, among many other things.
Repurposing ProjectThe goal of the repurposing project was to repurpose an old piece of writing into a newly renovated project written for publication in a real-world avenue.
|
Remediation ProjectThe goal of the remediation project was to remediate the repurposing project into a new piece of multimodal rhetoric while maintaining the same audience from the repurposing piece.
|
Why and How I WriteThe goal of the Why and How I Write project was to reflect on why we write, and then express these motivations in a format of our choice.

The Minor in Writing blog served as a collaborative space for students enrolled in the minor to share ideas, opinions, and feedback. Each week, students offered a new blog post as well as several comments regarding others' posts. My blog posts, as well as those of my peers, can be viewed below.
